Sanaya bagged her first lead role as the studious, demure Gunjan in Star One's Youth show Miley Jab Hum Tum . When she was offered the show, Sanaya was keen on doing it but thought she would not make it as the character was purely Indian and she had been told she did not look Indian at all. Sanaya encountered a major problem while doing the role and that was of the language. Unable to speak Hindi fluently, Sanaya faced issues with mouthing the dialogues her character required. But the actress eventually became used to it. Sanaya was cast opposite newcomer Mohit Sehgal who she began dating later on. The show ended on November 29. 2010.
